The Extra

There’s one redheaded extra that appears in much of my work. She is a short-tempered, Hungarian bitch who has cost me a fortune. She has her own opinions, her own blog and a strand of pearls that are a better grade than those I wear. When I concept and produce an editorial shoot, she always seems to weasel her way into a shot. A few months ago she had the audacity to take a meeting with an agent.

When I reminded her of the money she has outstanding for vet visits, specialty biscuits and weekly appointments at her favorite spa she realized she’ll be in my employ for the next 14 years.

May I introduce you to McGuire Jo Summers (aka Maggie, Maggie Jo, The Bitch)…the extra.

Like all my best girlfriends…occasionally they’re all a bit snarky, but always a lot of fun.

  3. Hi Libbie, I was in Andrea’s class today–very much enjoyed learning about what you do. Your passion for your work is inspiring. I’ve been a closet foodie my entire life; your career in food and beauty and going with your gut is my absolute dream gig. My favorite piece of wisdom from your visit to our class was something said about not thinking small, something about not mistaking short term funding for the bigger picture. Fabulous. I’ll keep an eye on what your’e up to and hope our paths cross again soon.
